Amanda M.
Private tutor in Florence, AL
Education
Junior Environmental Biology major at University of North Alabama.
Experience
I am certified by ProLiteracy Worldwide to volunteer tutor ESL. I enjoy tutoring because I feel I can explain material in a way that is easily understood, regardless of an individual's learning style. When I was seventeen, I felt like I had gained everything I could from my high school curriculum. I got my GED and began working full-time to save for college. When I turned 18, I took the ACT and scored a 28, notably a 32 in the English and Reading sections, respectively. I chose an unorthodox method for my education, and I am so glad I did. It gave me the freedom to study my own interests, as well as improve in areas that I had previously struggled in.

I love being outdoors: backpacking, camping, deep-sea fishing, swimming, and kayaking are some of my favorite activities! I'm also into photography, and have shot senior portraits, couples, children, and even the Harlem Globetrotters (which was awesome!) I still can't get the hang of Sudoku.
